Our campaign launched at the height of the expenses scandal because the old politics of First-Past-the-Post has failed us. The only way to return democracy to our disgraced Parliament is by giving voters a real say in who represents them.
Over the past few months we’ve put democratic reform firmly on the agenda.
Because of pressure from tens of thousands of our supporters the campaign secured meetings at Downing Street, and got our referendum debated and voted on in both Houses of Parliament. But Labour's death bed conversion came to late, and the Conservatives had knives out for our referendum from the very beginning. It died in Wash-Up - in this parliament's last gasp of Horse Trading.
But the fight isn’t over – today we know that a hung parliament is a reforming parliament. And we're pulling out all the stops to ensure that this election returns a parliament capable of delivering real change. A parliament that will keep its promises. In place of majority government we want a genuine peoples' parliament.
